Portfolio Assessment
These are past projects I want to improve, get inspiration from, or build off of for my portfolio and skills I would like to showcase to potential employers.
I want to show my ability to layout designs and my illustrations in a way that works well on packages, and as I have worked on setting up my portfolio I have realized that I really enjoy making products for children. Out of the five packages I designed in my package design class, three of them were marketed for children. I am constantly noticing well designed items (toys/books/clothing/etc.) marketed for kids or critiquing others that I think are poorly designed. I knew about a year into my associate's degree that I wanted to design packages for my job, but after noting that the majority of package designs I am in love with are made for kids I have decided to pursue this and find jobs specifically within this field.
Package Design Layout + Dies/Separations
The first example is this nail kit. I designed the dies and separations for this project since we used a limited color palate as an example of a way to save a client money by running a three-color print rather than a full color job. I designed the logo for this project and I took all the photographs as well. I used channels in photoshop to manipulate the photos so they would work on a three-color print. It is definitely student work that is rough and needs to be reworked, but I think this is a good starting place or at least a decent springboard for a new and better design.

Here is another package I designed, created the dies and separations, and also made the company logo for Smith and Foster. This was a two-color print job as per the assignment which made the project a little more challenging.

I want to make DIY kits for kids to make different projects or learn how to make food. There are lots of possibilities for this and these photos are from a project that I made for school that is along that same idea. I designed the layout as well as the illustrations for the items in the kit as well as the company logo for Coru

Layout and Branding
I want to show my ability to layout designs that are functional and would fit within a company's branding styles.
This is an ordering form for a cake company I created for a class project at Salt Lake Community College. I designed the form as well as the company's logo.
