How I want to display my book
Here are both of my boxes together. I want them to both be very playful and loud. At the portfolio review, I need to attract as many people to come look at my work but I also need them to remember me. I want my boxes to be unique as possible. I don't want them to distract from my work, but rather be the introduction to it. I want to get people to be very curious about what kind of artwork I do and what I'm all about by presenting my work in a manner that is very different from my peers. I want to present my work in an unconventional way while still remaining professional.
I possibly want to have leave behinds cards that are are somewhat unconventional, like maybe a pop-up card or some kind of paper-engineered piece that serves as both a business card and a promotional item because I want this piece to be creative unique enough that people want to keep it as a desk toy or show it to other people because think it is cool. I want to stand out a make myself memorable by being somewhat unconventional. I would also display actual completed projects (like the printed book jackets actually on the books) so that people can see and handle the real products I have made took give them context of the portfolio pieces
Project One: Promotional zoo posters
made these three colored pencil illustrations a few years ago. I will reuse them to make posters for Hogle Zoo. I will put typography on these posters and add layouts to put on the zoo's information and I will write some copy that will be a witty play on words for each poster. I am thinking about contacting someone in the marketing department at the zoo to see if they would actually like to used these posters or maybe even use this artwork on Tee-shirts, postcards or other products for sale in the gift shop.
Project Two: Roller Derby Merch
I will use these two pieces to inspire my first project. I will turn them both into designs to be printed on tee-shirts, stickers, and other swag to be sold as fundraising items at roller derby games (I would use different color schemes to have multiple shirt options for sale). I would possibly contact my old derby team from Pocatello and to see if they would like to actually use the designs and I would make my portfolio much stronger to have work that is actually being applied to something
Project three: Series of illustrated book covers in a limited edition boxed set.
I have already illustrated these three book covers. I would now like the expand on this project and create a limited edition box/packaging for the set. I would possible create designs for a secondary package that will be for the audiobooks on CD so I would design the CDs and the packaging for the CDs well if I have the time to create them.

Capstone Project: DIY instructional book
I am designing the company and logo for the company that is producing the book. I am designing the projects, book (layout, illustrations, photographs) and packaging for the for the kit. I have quite a bit of work finished for this project already so I am needing to fine tune things and complete some of the missing components. This is what I have already completed so far.
